Allow me to share a glimpse of my own journey, one that has been dedicated to the world of textiles and design. With 27 years and 8 months of teaching experience, I have traversed the diverse landscapes of academia and industry. My educational background includes a Ph.D. in Technology, with a specialization in Knitting Technology, Knit Fabric Design, and Machine Design and Textile Technology.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving in various capacities. My quest for knowledge led me to international shores, where I served as a Professor of Textile Engineering at Wolkite University in Ethiopia. This blend of domestic and global experiences has enriched my perspective, and I bring this enriched perspective to our institution.
My journey has instilled in me a deep appreciation for the transformative power of design education. It is a route that has taught me that this field is not just about aesthetics; it is about problem-solving, storytelling, and creating experiences. It is about using the language of design to communicate ideas, evoke emotions, and drive change.
As you embark on your own journey, I encourage you to embrace every moment, every challenge, and every opportunity.
