Overview
The Interior Design Program will integrate several learnings, starting with idea creation, floor plans, site assessment, materials and construction science, as well as space design implementation, emphasising a student-centered learning approach. The program equally encourages students to take innovative initiatives in a rapidly changing ecosystem where design flaws are many and obstacles are unavoidable.
The program will help in creating an environment that will combine real-world needs with cutting-edge solutions to create entire spatial experiences. Students' skills and knowledge will be enhanced by mentorship from industry professionals and participation in actual projects.
Students will be instructed to create concepts of particular locations such as residential and commercial spaces, furniture design, exhibitions and commercial shops using various design tools and software.
This B.Sc. with Honours in Interior Design program from Dr. D.Y. Patil University seeks to improve students' abilities to think creatively, invent, and design practical as well as aesthetic spaces in which the final draft remedies may be divergent over a span of 4 years.
We also urge students to discover new solutions by adopting sustainable practices which is a vital element of their learning experience, in light of present times and continuously changing environment.
The students of this particular course will also be taught to create spaces and aesthetics that equally fosters social impact through creative ability by analysing human needs, desires and conduct through project-based curriculum.
Interior Space Design includes an in-depth study of materials, lighting, décor, furniture, modelling, and graphics. Portfolio reviews will be undertaken at various levels throughout the curriculum to determine a student's participation and retention in this highly competitive school.
